This page discloses the privacy practices of the Mergdata.com website and android application. If you arrived at this page via one of our cobranded partner sites, please be assured that the privacy policy that you see here is in effect for all mergdata.com and mergdata app users regardless of how they are directed to our registration form.

Our data storage servers are located in the United States of America and by third party service providers in the cloud. By using mergdata.com and the mergdata app, you specifically agree that mergdata.com & app may transfer to and store your personal information in the USA and to such third party service providers wherever they might locate their servers.

Except as described in this privacy policy, we will not make any personal identifying information of our users available to anyone without your knowledge or consent (as described in this policy), except in the rare instances required by law. mergdata.com also automatically collects information via log files to administer the site and to aid in technical problem-solving. Log file information collected is IP address, time a page was viewed, name of pages viewed within the mergdata.com site during the specific visit, browser type, URL parameters, and cookies that were set by the mergdata.com website at the time of the visit. Log files may also include information indicating where a visitor came from. This information is used only to administer the site and to identify and resolve any technical problems related to the site's operation.

This website has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under our control. Users names, email addresses, and phone numbers are maintained on a secured database accessible only by Farmerline staff. Users may also access their own information for the purposes of verifying and updating, but they cannot view other users' information. As with any Internet Endeavor, absolute security of information transmitted through channels (communication networks, hardware, software) not directly operated or controlled by us cannot be guaranteed.

In the event we or our affiliates experience a merger, acquisition, sale or other transaction pursuant to which this website is acquired by a third party or another affiliate, your personal identifying information may be disclosed to the third party or affiliate both before and after the transaction, for the sole purpose of facilitating and effecting that transaction. In the event a transaction is consummated, you will be notified of the transaction via email and/or through a notice on our website, and custody of your personal identifying information will be transferred subject to all the terms and restrictions of this privacy policy.

Managing Your Information

When you register as a user, we collect the following personally identifying information: your name, organization name, email address, and phone number.

mergdata.com relies on users themselves to provide any updates to personal identifying information. Users may update email addresses, password, phone number as well as the name of the person who initially registered by going to “User Management” section of this website (available to Users only). Please ensure that you change your password regularly to optimize the security of your account.

Data Access and Portability

In some jurisdictions, the applicable law may entitle you to request copies of your personal information held by us. You may also be entitled to request copies of personal information that you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format and/or request us to transmit this information to another service provider (where technically feasible).

Data Retention and Erasure

You may request us to delete all your data on our platform by emailing us at support@mergdata.com. Please note that if you request the erasure of your personal information:

  • We may retain some of your personal information so as to detect and prevent fraud and enhance safety. For example, if we suspend an account for security reasons, we may retain certain information from that account to prevent that customer from opening a new account in the future.
  • We may retain and use your personal information to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations. For example, we may keep some of your information for tax, legal reporting and auditing purposes.
  • Because we maintain our platform to protect it from accidental or malicious loss and destruction, residual copies of your personal information may not be removed from our backup systems for a limited period of time.
  • In cases where fraudulent or otherwise illegal activity has been deemed to have occurred as determined by law enforcement or management, the information may remain in our database indefinitely in order to help facilitate the prevention of repeated abuse in the future from the offending party.

Withdrawing Consent and Restriction of Processing

If you have provided your consent to the processing of your personal information, you may withdraw it at any time by sending us a communication specifying which consent you are withdrawing. By default, customers do receive any system updates, such as the newsletters, invoices and service email notifications. Customers cannot opt out of possibly receiving important system notifications, since the latter are deemed necessary for the performance of our contractual obligations to you.

How We Use Cookies and Other Technologies on Our Website

Mergdata.com also uses cookies in the user area of the site to store email address automatically and password (optionally) so that the user does not have to repeatedly retype the information. For users' convenience, this cookie is stored for subsequent sessions. User area cookies are also used to identify valid users in order to protect access to their specific user information and to personalize their experience on the site. The web server also creates cookies to uniquely identify each user session when a member visits the site. This latter cookie is automatically deleted at the end of a session.

No personal identifying information is stored on any cookie nor do we retain any information from cookies on our databases.

Notification Of Changes:
How We Notify You About Changes to Our Privacy Policy

If we are going to use your personal identifying information in a manner different from that stated in our privacy policy at the time of collection, we will notify you via email. You will have a choice as to whether or not we use your information in this different manner; instructions for how to make that choice will be included in the email. If we make any material changes to our privacy practices that do not affect user information already stored in our database, we will post a prominent notice on our website notifying our members that there is a change and pointing them to the revised privacy page.

What information do we collect from our app users?

Information you provide us directly:
  • Your email, password and organization details when you register for an account.
  • Media Content (e.g., photos, audio, and video) that is saved during use of application and deleted once logged out.
  • Location. We pick your GPS coordinates to validate the authenticity of data collected.
  • Communications between you and Mergdata. For example, we may send you Service-related emails (e.g., account verification, changes/updates to features of the Service, technical and security notices). Note that you may not opt out of Service-related e-mails.
Reports and Error Log Information:
  • Users are requested to send anonymous crash reports and analytics data anytime there is a crash while using Mergdata. These reports are critically analyzed to fix error/bugs that were encountered.
  • Alternatively error logs are automatically recorded and saved anytime an error occurs on the device. This is sent to Farmerline via email with the direct consent of the user.
Metadata:
  • Metadata is usually technical data that is associated with User Content. For example, Metadata can describe how, when and by whom a piece of User Content was collected and how that content is formatted.

Metadata on Mergdata includes:
  • Start and End Timestamps of data points collected.

How do we protect visitor information?

All information is stored behind secured networks, only accessible by our support personnel who are required to keep the information confidential. We only use very reliable backend systems: Firebase

Do we use ‘cookies’?

Yes. a cookie is a small piece of data sent from a website and stored on the user’s computer by the user’s web browser while the user is browsing. We use cookies to compile aggregate data about site traffic and site interactions in order to offer better site experiences and tools in the future.
